Taverna Veranda

A big thank you to Taverna Veranda for allowing us to photograph at your beautiful location a couple of weeks ago. The space felt open and airy, with a light tropical vibe right by the water — truly a photographer’s dream. The drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and everyone was having such a great time. The photos we captured before the place opened came out absolutely stunning, and I can’t wait to be back to create more magic there.

This place can be a 5 but there has to be less of a push to get us out quickly. We spent 500 dollars and were there for one hour. The waiter had the check ready asking us if we needed anything else instead of offering us options The waiter was on top of things, so were the helpers clearing the table. But the vibe was that we needed to order everything together, we weren’t given time to look at the menu. It was question after question as soon as we sat down. No time to think no time to look at the menu offerings. No recommendations. No time. You could have slowed it down at multiple points, offered us coffee or a latte with our desert to extend our time by 15 minutes. Your tables were not even all full to push us out. I’m not saying I wouldn’t come back but it is not a place to go with your family if a slower night is what you were looking for.

Been here three times and always enjoy the food. Their skirt steak is great, and the calamari was really good too. On my first visit, they asked me to take my hat off — I guess it’s a bit of a fancier spot. The pasta was just okay, but the octopus and other dishes we tried were solid. Definitely not the cheapest place, but worth it for certain items.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic Greek food! We had an incredible dinner, and the grilled meats were the highlight. The lamb chops, rib eye, and skirt steak were all cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection, tender and juicy. But seriously, don't skip the appetizers! The trio of dips was amazing, especially the spicy feta (Tyrokafteri), it was truly phenomenal and a must-try. A vibrant atmosphere and delicious food make this a must-come, must-enjoy place! Highly recommend.

As you know, I only recommend places that I’m 100% sure are fantastic. On Saturday, October 25, a friend invited me to this spectacular restaurant, and I have to describe the whole experience starting from the entrance. From the moment I stepped into the lobby — 10/10. When the young woman who greeted me asked who I was meeting, I told her I was meeting a friend who was already there. She said, “Carmen,” and I thought, this is not just any pretty place. I went to meet my friend at the bar, and as soon as I arrived the bartender greeted me — another 10/10. He began speaking English, but when he heard me speak Spanish he switched to Spanish right away. That completely won my heart — a true Caribbean, Spanish-speaking touch. I ordered a Lychee Martini, and it was 100/10. Then the young woman serving our table came over, and at that moment I honestly felt like proposing to the restaurant — 1000/10! There’s a difference between simply working and truly serving, and not everyone has that gift. As a wine lover, I told my friend that we both love Cabernet Sauvignon. The waitress recommended a bottle, and when I asked whether it had been aged in wood or steel she said “wood.” My friend and I immediately agreed — that’s the one. A hidden gem in the Fort Lee-Edgewater area! We went on a whim for dinner on the outdoor patio, which offers beautiful views of the city skyline. The ambience was lively and upbeat, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and nicely presented. I especially loved the grilled calamari appetizer and the salmon entrée — both cooked perfectly. The menu offers a great variety, so there’s something for everyone. Prices and portion sizes are reasonable for the area and the waterfront setting. It’s a wonderful spot for outdoor dining in Edgewater, and I’d definitely recommend it. Bonus: they also have live music on some nights, which adds to the experience.

As always, I visited with my wife for a Saturday date. The view is great and relaxing. The water around you is a plus experience. My plate was great (short ribs), and my wife’s was ok. She wasn’t that satisfied with her fish. Both pictures available. Wine and coffee were very good. The dessert was great. I really like it. (Pictured) Prices are acceptable based on the type of restaurant and area. I will definitely visit again. And I recommend it. The service was good. The music comfortable.

We had an incredible dining experience at Taverna Veranda in Edgewater! I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic—an ideal spot for both a date night and a special occasion. The lobster pasta was the highlight of the night—rich, flavorful, and generously portioned with a great amount of lobster. We also tried the lamb chops and a few appetizers, and everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. A big shoutout to our server Alonzo, who was amazing—he gave thoughtful, detailed descriptions of each dish and suggested excellent wine pairings that elevated the entire meal. Highly recommend this place—exceptional food, warm ambiance, and top-notch service. Can’t wait to come back!
